Ingredients

  • Chicken Boneless skinless breasts or thighs. Thighs stay juicier.
  • BBQ sauce Sweet smoky, or spicy. Store bought works, but homemade is great too.
  • Slider buns Soft rolls or Hawaiian bread for a slightly sweet taste.
  • Optional toppings Coleslaw pickles, shredded cheese, or jalapeños.

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Chicken

  • Slow Cooker: Add chicken and BBQ sauce. Cook on low 4–6 hours or high 2–3 hours.
  • Instant Pot: Add chicken and sauce. Cook 15 minutes on high pressure. Natural release for 10 minutes.
  • Stovetop: Simmer chicken and sauce in a pot for 30 minutes until tender.

Step 2: Shred the Chicken

  • Remove chicken from pot.
  • Use two forks to shred it. A hand mixer makes it even faster.
  • Return shredded chicken to sauce and stir well.

Step 3: Assemble the Sliders

  • Slice buns in half.
  • Spoon BBQ chicken onto bottom half.
  • Add toppings like coleslaw or pickles.
  • Cover with bun tops and serve.
