Ingredients

  • 1 can 21 oz cherry pie filling
  • 2 cups pineapple chunks fresh or canned, drained
  • 2 cups strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup grapes halved (red or green)
  • 1 banana sliced
  • 1 apple diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Optional Add-Ins

  • ½ cup mini marshmallows
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

1. Prepare the fruit

  • Wash all fresh fruit thoroughly. Slice the strawberries, halve the grapes, dice the apple into small cubes, and slice the banana.

2. Add fruit to a bowl

  • Place the prepared fruit into a large mixing bowl. If using canned pineapple, drain it well before adding.

6. Chill

  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend.

7. Serve

  • Stir gently before serving and enjoy chilled.

📝 Notes

  • Fruit Variety: This recipe works best with canned fruit cocktail, pineapple chunks, and mandarin oranges, but you can also add fresh strawberries, grapes, or blueberries.
  • Drain Well: Make sure to drain canned fruits thoroughly so the salad doesn’t become watery.
  • Cherry Pie Filling: The cherry pie filling adds sweetness and color—stir gently to keep the cherries whole.
  • Chill Before Serving: Refrigerate the fruit salad for at least 1–2 hours so the flavors blend beautifully.
  • Creamy Twist: For a creamier version, fold in a cup of whipped topping or vanilla yogurt.
  • Texture Boost: Add mini marshmallows or chopped pecans for extra sweetness and crunch.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Make Ahead: This salad is perfect for preparing a day in advance for parties, potlucks, or holiday meals.
