Ingredients

For the Pizza Base

  • 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for brushing
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella low-moisture works best
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Toppings

  • 4 –5 ounces prosciutto thinly sliced
  • 1 large ball burrata cheese about 8 ounces
  • 2 –3 tablespoons honey plus more to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to finish

Optional Add-Ons

  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh arugula
  • Fresh thyme or basil

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

  • Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven and preheat to 475°F (245°C). Let it heat for at least 20 minutes for the crispiest crust.

2. Prepare the Dough

  • On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll the pizza dough into a 12–14 inch round. Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
  • Brush the dough lightly with olive oil, focusing on the edges for extra crispness.

3. Add the Cheese Base

  • Sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Add the grated Parmesan on top for depth of flavor.

4. Bake the Pizza

  • Carefully transfer the pizza (on parchment) onto the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10–14 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

5. Add Burrata and Prosciutto

  • Remove the pizza from the oven. Tear the burrata into large pieces and scatter it over the hot pizza. Layer the prosciutto gently on top—the heat will soften it perfectly.

6. Finish and Serve

  • Drizzle honey generously over the pizza. Add black pepper, red pepper flakes, or fresh herbs if desired. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

📝 Notes

  • Use fresh burrata and add it after baking for best texture.
  • Prosciutto crisps slightly in the oven; add late if you prefer it soft.
  • A thin pizza crust works best to balance rich toppings.
  • Drizzle honey lightly to avoid overpowering the savory flavors.
  • Fresh basil or arugula adds a nice peppery finish.
  • Bake on a hot pizza stone or sheet pan for a crisp base.
  • Slice with a sharp knife to keep burrata intact.
  • Best enjoyed fresh; leftovers can be reheated briefly in the oven.
